ECOSLO hosts a different volunteer or hiking opportunity almost every week, we list those events on our calendar and our homepage. Volunteer oppertunities are great ways to fufill community service requirements for local schools, businesses, and orginizations. Some oppertunities include:

  • Trail Work, Habitat Restoration & Tree Plantings- Through our SLO City and SLO County programs, ECOSLO maintains trails, creeks, and open space. Work parties are scheduled on Saturdays from 9am to 12pm. Water and snacks will be provided.  See our Event Calendar to get dates and times for upcoming Trail Workdays.
  • Step Into Being a Docent- As the City of San Luis Obispo increases its greenbelt area, our Natural San Luis docent program becomes an important part of efforts to educate the public about San Luis Obispo's natural heritage. We are currently scheduling hikes that will help you step into being a docent and leading leading nature hikes. For more information, talk to one of our docents at our docent led hikes on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Upcoming hikes can be found on our Event Calendar.
  • Volunteer at Sweet Springs- Volunteer with the Morro Coast Audubon on the 2nd Saturday of every month from 9am to 12pm to help improve habitat at the Sweet Springs Nature Preserve. Tools and tips provided. Meet at the main entrance off Ramona. More info: 239-3928 or email mcas@morrocoastaudubon.org or view  http://www.morrocoastaudubon.org for times and dates.
