Eco Summit is a day-long collaboration forum designed to connect individuals and organizations working on environmental issues facing the Central Coast.

This year's event will be held on Sunday, May 18 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Camp Ocean Pines (directions). Eco-Summit is by invitation only. If you would like to attend, please email ecosummit@ecoslo.org or call 544-1777.

9:45 – 10:15 AM Opening Exercise: Linda Seeley
10:15 – 11:30 AM Group Updates

An Eco Summit tradition, groups are invited to share a brief update of the issues and projects they have been working on over the past year.
11:30 – 12:15 PM Collaboration Workshop: Vicki Milledge PhD

An interactive workshop focusing on the levels of collaboration, reasons environmental groups might consider collaborating, the barriers to successful collaboration, and ways these barriers can be overcome.
12:15 – 1:15 PM Lunch
1:15 – 1:45 PM Carrizo Plain Update: Deb Hillyard
1:45 – 3:00 PM Panel Discussion I: Renewable Energy and Land Use

This panel will bring together experts from around the state to discuss renewable energy and land use issues on the Central Coast. The benefits and drawbacks of the Carrizo Energy Solar Farm Project will be explored as a case study. Panelists include: Anne McMahon, Pat Veesart, Sarah Christie, and Peter Schwartz.

3:15 – 4:30 PM Panel Discussion II: Sustainable Living

This panel will explore ways individuals can make their lives more sustainable, with a special focus on local food production, environmental health and green building. Panelists include: Pam Heatherington, Debra Garrison, Clint Slaughter, and Ken Haggard.
4:30 – 5:00 PM Closing Exercise: Linda Seeley
