Trail Work, Habitat Restoration & Tree Plantings
Through our Natural San Luis and Adopt-A-Trail programs, ECOSLO maintains trails, creeks, and open space. Work parties are scheduled on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. Water and snacks will be provided. See our Event Calendar to get dates and times for upcoming Trail Work Parties.

Step Into Being a Docent
As the City of San Luis Obispo increases its greenbelt area, our Natural San Luis docent program becomes an important part of efforts to educate the public about San Luis Obispo's natural heritage. We are currently scheduling hikes that will help you step into being a docent and leading leading nature hikes. For more information, talk to one of our docents at our docent led hikes on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Upcoming hikes can be found on our Event Calendar.

Coastal Cleanup Day

As part of the International Coastal Cleanup Day, ECOSLO organizes beach cleanups throughout San Luis Obispo County on the third Saturday of September. If you would like to become a beach cleanup volunteer, visit our Coastal Cleanup Day website.

Internships

Build your resume and gain valuable real world experience working at a nonprofit organization. All interns must be currently enrolled students with a minimum of a 2.5 GPA.

We are looking for an intern for a short-term assignment to take photographs of Coastal Cleanup Day activities on Saturday, September 19th from 8-12.  After the event, the intern will create a photo collage on the ECOSLO web site to document the event. The assignment requires a car and valid driver's license in order to visit a number of our cleanup sites on the day of the event.  Mileage will be reimbursed.
