Program Coordinator

Position Title: ECOSLO Program Coordinator
Part Time:
12-15 hours a week Salary: $12 per hour
Reports to: Board of Trustees and will have regular contact with the Board,  ECOSLO members, Community Service Workers, and volunteers.

Probationary period: Three months.
There is a possibility for expanded hours with increased work load.
Opportunities for increased salary will be based on successful performance.

The successful candidate will need to be someone who is: responsible, organized, efficient, highly motivated, creative and innovative, takes initiative, patient, empathetic, prioritizes the needs of the organization,  possesses excellent communication skills, IT literate, and appreciates a flexible work environment. Previous administration experience, the ability to plan and manage resources, and participation in environmental actions are desirable.

Responsibilities:

Manage and implement all aspects of the organizations funded programs such as the SLO County contracts,  SLO City contract, Community Service Worker Program, Coastal Cleanup Day and ECOSLO’s Morro Bay Triathlon.  Maintain accurate hourly records of time spent on each program and invoice for services performed.  Must write timely reports and record and deposit funds as received.

Community Service Workers:  Register, evaluate and receive, record and prepare CWS fees for deposit.  Refer CSW to appropriate work through ECOSLO or an alternative organizations.  Interact and build relationships with agencies that accept CSWs.

SLO Stewards: Promote and coordinate City of SLO ranger and docent-led nature hikes and SLO Stewards trail work days. Coordinate content and distribution of SLO Stewards newletter 3 times per year.

Volunteer Development: Recruit, train, and engage a cadre of volunteers to participate in the trail maintenance programs, Coastal Cleanup Day, Morro Bay Triathalon and/or tabling at community events.  Assist the Membership Coordinator in maintaining the volunteer database.

Information Technology: Update the ECOSLO online calendar with program events and post to other community calendars. Develop and post weekly email alerts to members, volunteers and community organizations. Maintain and expand ECOSLO’s social networking outreach efforts, post updates to website and send press releases when applicable.

General Office: Answer phones and email; delegate inquiries as needed. Make bank deposits, obtain Board Members signatures as needed, pick up mail, keep sufficient office supplies on hand, empty trash, recycle and reuse, etc.  As necessary and for the smooth running of the organization support and work with the Membership Coordinator.
