Adria Arko, Program Coordinator
Hi, I’m Adria! I am excited to join the ECOSLO team as the new Program Coordinator. I am originally from the Bay Area, and moved down to San Luis Obispo to get my Master’s in Public Policy from Cal Poly, where my emphasis was sustainable food systems. My undergraduate degree is in environmental studies from Pitzer College in Claremont, California. In my free time, I love to garden, cook (and eat!), hike, camp and kayak. I am thrilled to support the great work of ECOSLO, and am passionate about protecting our natural environment and building healthy communities.
Joey Bashore, Assistant Coastal Cleanup Day Coordinator
Hi! My name is Joey Bashore and I will be interning with ECOSLO this summer to help coordinate the Coastal Cleanup Day event. I attend Cal Poly with a major in Environmental Management and Protection, with a concentration in Hydrology and Watershed Management. I will be starting my 4th year this coming fall. I enjoy working with ECOSLO because it allows me to be involved with the preservation of the natural environment around us. After college, I hope to work in the water management field and truly make a difference for the betterment of California!
Michael Heater, Program Coordinator
Michael earned his Master degree in City and Regional Planning at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He recently moved to San Luis Obispo from Puerto Rico where he worked with the San Juan National Park Service. There he organized and participated in multiple beach and trail cleanups. Michael was born and raised in Philadelphia receiving his undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh but eventually got sick of the long, bitter cold winters of the east coast. He thought San Luis Obispo would provide a welcome relief—and it has! Michael is passionate about creating better communities and is excited to work for ECOSLO!
