Michael Heater, Program Coordinator

Michael earned his Master degree in City and Regional Planning at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He recently moved to San Luis Obispo from Puerto Rico where he worked with the San Juan National Park Service.  There he organized and participated in multiple beach and trail cleanups. Michael was born and raised in Philadelphia receiving his undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh but eventually got sick of the long, bitter cold winters of the east coast.  He thought San Luis Obispo would provide a welcome relief—and it has!  Michael is passionate about creating better communities and is excited to work for ECOSLO!

KristaBurkeKrista Burke, Membership Coordinator

Hi, I’m Krista! I was born and raised in Redding California (north of Sacramento) where I lived until moving to San Luis Obispo to attend college. I recently graduated from Cal Poly with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. I have always enjoyed the outdoors and almost all of my favorite pastimes include being outside. Some of my favorite things to do are hiking, camping, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and family. My favorite hiking trail is the Avila Ridge trail and my favorite camping spot is on the Northern Coast at Patrick’s Point in Trinidad. My love for the outdoors and passion for the environment made me very excited to be a part of ECOSLO. My main tasks at ECOSLO will involve membership and event coordination. I hope to bring more people to the ECOSLO family and to make ECOSLO a bigger part of our community.
